"Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, rooted in Sacred Scripture and centered on the Eucharist, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School embraces the values of Education, Faith and Citizenship.”
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School offers separate 5th, 6th, 7th/8th and 9th/12th Bands and has a long history of extraordinary participation and excellence in performance. For the past 30 years Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School has had one of the highest participation rates nationally with over 50% of the high school students involved in band!
There are many performance opportunities throughout the school year from football games to concerts to graduation performances. In addition Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School is part of the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association and students are eligible to participate in all MSBOA festivals. Students have routinely received the highest ratings at both Solo & Ensemble festival as well as District Band Festival.
Each year students have an opportunity to put on two productions. Typically the spring production is a musical. It is not unusual to have 50-70 middle and high school students participate in these productions and they are very well done.
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School provides a rich worship environment for students in the middle and high school, led by the school’s Liturgical Music Ensemble. This group is comprised of students in grades 6-12 under the direction of Stacey Davis. The choir consists of a diverse mix of vocalists and instrumentalists who provide the student body and staff with a wide variety of both contemporary and classical music for worship. Advisor: Dr. John Griffin.
4th – 9th grade students have the opportunity to take lessons in the cello, viola and violin in a program established with the Citadel in Benton Harbor. Transportation to the after school lessons will be provided by the school. Parents will be responsible to pick up their children after the lesson. Click here for more information
